Cyrtostakys renda

Originally from Malaysia, this palm is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Its bamboo-colored stem at the bottom and intense red at the top looks like a pinted palm. You can find this piece of art in all the luxurious projects in Costa Rica, Indonesia... Its growth is very slow at first but after many years outdoors, this plant can reach 5/6 meters. New to the Dominican Republic, she will quickly become the queen of all tropical gardens. The seeds are very dificult to germinate, we have very few pieces in stock so don't wait too much.

How to care for your plant ?

  • Lipstick needs a lot of water and high relative humidity (in the air). Outdoors, it prefers semi-shade but adapts very well to sun if you provide water 2/3 times a week or more (this plant loves water). What they should avoid is an exposure that mixes full sun and strong breeze (the breeze dehydrates it a lot). Indoors or on the terrace, it grows very well in pots. It cannot be kept in an air-conditioned space (the air lowers the relative humidity too much). It reproduces and multiplies by seed, please don’t try to remove the children to replant them, the children will die and could infect the mother.

What will this plant do for you ?

  • Being a work of art, this palm will always give you a lot of emotion when you see it grow. Its roots are thin and not agressive. Being one of the most expensive palms in the world, you can consider it as an excellent investment. It can be easily transplanted and its growth will greatly increase its value...
